Who we are

Husky Food Importers & Distributors Ltd. ("Husky Food", "we", "us") has imported and distributed European food brands across Canada since 1967. This policy explains how we handle information you provide through huskyfoods.com. We serve businesses, primarily brands seeking Canadian distribution and retailers sourcing products. This policy works alongside our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

We collect the information you submit through our forms:

• Contact form: your name, email address, company (optional), subject, and message.
• Brand application: brand and company name, country, website, contact name and title, email, phone, business and financial details (years in business, revenue range, markets), sample shipping address, and your consent acknowledgements.
• Retailer inquiry: company name, business type, province and city, GST number, brands of interest, volume and scale, contact name and title, email, phone, and preferred contact method and time.
• Retailer resources access: your email address (used for sign-in by emailed link), your company name, and a record of the assets you download, including the date, your IP address, and your browser (user agent).

We also automatically collect limited technical data when you submit a form or download a resource, including your IP address and browser information, for security and abuse prevention.

How we use your information

• Respond to your inquiries and messages.
• Evaluate and manage brand and retailer partnership opportunities.
• Provide the retailer resources you request.
• Manage our business relationship with you.
• Protect our site and systems against fraud and abuse.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the site and respond to you: our content and form-storage platform (Sanity), our bot protection provider (Cloudflare Turnstile), our email provider (Amazon Web Services, Amazon SES, which may process data in the United States), and the messaging services we use to receive and reply to submissions. We may also disclose information where required by law.

SMS and mobile messaging

If you provide a mobile number and opt in, we may send you text messages related to your inquiry or partnership. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or partnership. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Data retention and security

We keep your information for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes described here and to meet our legal and business obligations. We protect it with encryption in transit, bot protection, and rate limiting on our form endpoints.

Your rights
